Malham

1st July 2022 Off to Malham, Yorkshire for Birthday treat (March) for Afternoon Tea at Beck Hall Hotel. Another one crossed off my 60 Things to do in my 60th Year.

Well we were quite surprised how narrow the roads were getting to Malham, single track roads with passing places for quite a number of miles. At one point there was a gate across the road which we thought was leading into a farm, it was because there was no cattle grid to stop the sheep.

Stark difference in scenery after all the houses being built in Longridge and surrounding areas taking every spare bit of greenery, to see massive bleak moors.

The fabulous rolling hills of the Yorkshire Dales National Park.

Due to the detour getting into Wales we are now going to go 30 miles by train from Chepstow to Cardiff and carry on the route from there. 

Total 10.9 miles - Completed 265 miles. We are now on Barry Island, made famous by the TV programme Gavin & Stacy.
