A bit of catching up to do. Walks have eased off with Colin suffering again with his knees! A rare occasion was Colin doing the Sainsbury's shop on his own and he shouted through the door when he got back that the bags were too heavy could he have a lift and then gave me 2 bunches of Freesias as a surprise, Ahhh. George was picked up by his cousin Sean and spent the weekend in Halifax meeting the guys he plays on-line games with. Alan told us about the Red Arrows going to be flying over while they are doing the Southport Airshow. We usually go to Blackpool to watch across the water but we were waiting in for a delivery for George. I stood outside for an hour and nothing - went indoors and a very loud noise came from overhead, ran outside and they were gone!!!! George's new monitor arrived.
Family gathering at Janet's house for our first visit of our new Great Nephew James and his Mum and Dad Becky and Rob, and the proud Grandparents Nigel and Tina. The Gabbitas's were unavailable with Deborah, Andrew and Stephanie down in Eastbourne, Jennifer with Covid (again). Sean was with our little one (GG). Gina and Drew were visiting family in Birmingham. We were unable to bring Dad as Longton Care Home was in lock down with high Covid cases and only 1 family member allowed to visit and poor Janet has to step up again.
Grandparents Nigel and Tina, Daughter Becky and Grandson James.
We walked round to see our Grandson Archie to give him some presents for his 14th Birthday. Got to chat to all of them for 15 minutes. He has got a new 4K monitor with money towards it off us.
Stuart not feeling too good. He had spoken to Deborah by Skype and told her he couldn't get out of bed because all of his muscles were hurting. Janet and Terry rushed round to see how he was and found that he had a high temperature. The house was hot and his windows were closed so first aid set in with windows open, a fan and a cool drink which after an hour his temperature had come down a little. Still feeling concerned Janet decided to stay over to keep an eye on him. I set off the next day to relieve Janet and when I got to the Uclan Sports Arena I heard a little tinkle on my phone so stopped to check. 3 missed calls from Colin at home, when I rang him he said Stuart has tested positive for Covid. Oh no, rang Janet and she said turn back, she stayed for another 3 days - what a saint.
WARNING - heat wave on its way, we have never had a Red Weather Warning for extreme heat. We put the gazebo up for some shelter. Went to visit Dad, now out of lock down, he spotted us straight away on the car park and was waving from his window. Took him some more snacks and grapes (he gets through loads), fixed his shaver and thought we had found his glasses but heard later that his latest ones have tape on the arm where they have broken. Sat with him and told him all that had been going on but he is not starting any conversations and seems a bit lost. Last week he told Janet where he was just incase she didn't know because she hasn't visited - Janet has been everyday!
Oh no crisis - George's PC keeps crashing (major incident). It is definitely over heating. Colin crawling on the floor to move the extension leads and try it again. Fingers crossed. Working again 'So Far'.
Day off for Janet - Birthday. We went to see Stuart for a chat and to sort out what he would like for tea. He is better now but told me he felt so ill and even though he is testing negative now he said his arms are still aching. GG off to a friends BBQ, supposed to be at 3pm but he was still asleep until 4pm, quick shower and begged for a lift to Reuben's. Colin dropped him off and George walked into number 19 house with a guy saying 'wrong house, wrong house mate' and he thought this guy was one of Reuben's mates that he hadn't met and was messing about until he assured him it was the wrong house. He rang Reuben and he said we are number 23!!!!
Sunday - before sitting down to Formula 1 we went for a walk around mile lane getting in another 3 miles.
Total 31.5 miles Completed 296.5 miles and we are now in Margam Castle near Port Talbot.
