500 Miles

28th November 2022 - Really feels like a great achievement - reached 500 miles, taking us from Lands End, England to Aberporth, Wales.

Only managed a couple of walks as Snow hit the region. The temperature has dropped to -7 very cold. Still went out to visit Dad and Stuart. Watched loads of football in the Qatar World Cup matches. Had to take Stuart to the Doctors for a well man check and he showed to have a high temperature even though he didn't feel unwell. He had a blood test as well, very brave. 

8th December - got xmas pots from the market to take to family graves.

Mark took his kids to see Father Christmas at Hoghton Towers and there was a lot of snow. They came here for party tea and went sledging on fairy footsteps in Longridge. 

Went to take 1 of the xmas pots to Mum and forgot to bring it! 

Longton Care Home, Dad's Xmas Fair - I was going to take Stuart on my own but too icy so Colin came to help. Stuart managed to see and talk to Father Christmas and told him his list of what he would like, and had a go on the tombola but didn't win.

George on another follow up appointment for his eyes - even though he feels they are getting worse, his consultant is pleased with the progress and told George this will take a long time, it is not a quick fix. Unfortunately his badminton game didn't go well where he just couldn't see the shuttle and so he has decided to finish going.

Managed to take the xmas pots to Colin's Grandparents and Mum and Dad's grave and to my Grandparents and Great Grandmother's grave - (amazingly last years pot was there). 

19th December - Snow finally gone so went to Blackpool shopping but started raining (Colin hates the rain), so we dived into Harry Ramsden's famous chip shop and had a lovely lunch. When we got home we managed to get the xmas presents wrapped.

20th December - Quick walk into the village, they have opened up a new entrance through to the new estate which will change our routes from now on. Then we find out that there has been an outbreak of Covid at Dad's care home and he has tested positive. 

Total 40 miles - completed 535 miles. We are now in Aberystwyth, Wales.
